Developmental Disabilities

McIntosh Trail Community Service Board offers services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families within a seven county area. Consideration of an individual’s basic needs, desires and dreams are important components in services outcome planning.

A broad array of services and supports are available to assist individuals in identifying and meeting their goals.

Day Habilitation supports individuals needing to maintain or increase their daily living, socialization or leisure activities. There is also a focus on communication and mobility skills.

Day Supports assists individuals needing skill maintenance or development or vocational training. This programs offers a variety of activities related to work in and out of a facility based center. Socialization and community experiences are also provided.

Supported Employment assists individuals to obtain a job. There is often an assessment component which helps an individual determine the job most suited to their skills and interests, providing assistance with completing an application, interviewing skills, job training and retraining if needed.

Residential services include the following options: residential training and supports provide 24 hour support, personal supports are provided in an individual’s home within less than 24 hours and natural supports offer a family specific service indicated by the individual’s need.
