Square Foot Ministry "Builds Dreams"

FAYETTEVILLE – Whether it is a small project such as repairing a porch or a major project such as building a house from the ground up, Square Foot Ministry helps people to build dreams every day.  And now, you can be a part of building someone’s dream – and have fun at the same time.

SFM is sponsoring a variety show on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Sams Auditorium.  The event is designed for the whole family to enjoy.  Doors will open at 5:45 PM with the show beginning at 7:00.

Local musicians and actors will present a wide variety of entertainment, from singing to dancing to scenes from popular Broadway productions.  Performers will include several local musicians, the Twilight Theatre, the Drake School of Irish Dance, Gym South, and Carousel of Dance.  The highlight of the evening will be Fayette County’s own Chicken Man.

All proceeds will be used to fund current and on-going Square Foot projects.  Current major projects include coordinating construction of the Fayette County Counseling Center on Bradley Drive and the annual “blitz build” in Griffin.  The group, which consists of all volunteers, is also planning major home builds in the Thomaston Mills Village (Griffin), West Point, and the Gulf Coast.

Ticket prices are $15 for adults; $7 for adults 55 and older; $8 for youth ages 12-17; and $5 for children 11 and under.  Tickets are available from many local churches or by sending an email to sfmtickets@yahoo.com.

Additional information on how individuals and groups can volunteer to work on projects or make tax-exempt donations is also available at squarefootministry.com and at  thecitizen.com.
